Trip Leader: Larry Gersbach
Davidson Woods, Butler County’s newest metro park, will be open to AMV for a field trip lead by Butler County Park Commissioner and AMV member Larry Gersbach. The 400 acre park was obtained in 2007 by the Metro Parks and has a gorgeous view of Four Mile Creek. A 10 story bluff with 180 degrees of Four Mile Creek highlights the heavily wooded park. The area was owned by the Davidson and Shafer families who farmed and timbered the acreage. There was also a small scale chicken and and duck operation. The remains of two private residences are still visible.
We will be meeting at the corner of Hogue and Gardner road, just north of Hamilton in Hanover Township at 8:30AM.
